Language Lessons
Those of us in the field are usually rewarded with a great pay off when we see our students become fluent. It changes their lives, and we were part of that. Pretty neat.
Literacy of Northern New York has found a great way to deliver language assistance while simultaneously mentoring college students. Their new program incorporates students from the Occupational Therapy Program at Utica College who need 20 hours of community work in an ESL environment. The college students are learning—the language students are learning and it’s a win-win for everyone! Pictured here is Jenna Crill helping ESL students, Waleska Henderson and Kazumi Darsan
As Charlemagne said so long ago, ❝To have another language is to possess a second soul.❞
